Cyprus | Travel Diaries

Traveling and seeing the world is something I love to do, it is something my parents have made sure I have experienced since the very start of my life for this I am extremely grateful to them. One thing I love about going on holiday is capturing the amazing photographic moments that happen so that you can keep that memory forever. This summer I went to Cyprus, I had been there a couple of times before in the past but we decided to go again because of how beautiful and lovely the island is.

We stayed in a beautiful little villa just about 20 minutes away from Paphos (the nearest town) we didn't do an awful lot in the way of activities in the first week of our stay but we visited one of our favourite beaches/cove, which was really close to where we were staying. At the very start of the second week we hired a speed boat from a company in Polis and spent the day driving from cove to cove having a look around and a swim, one particular place we stayed at the most was the Blue Lagoon which was a beautiful cove with crystal clear water, generally just a lovely place to stop and swim for a bit. The only negative about that day was that we chose the day that Cyprus had a heat wave and temperatures reached around 42°C which was boiling even for Cyprus! We also decided that week to hire quad bikes (What an adventurous week that turned out to be!) and we took them out for the day driving them through off-road tracks along the coast, which I have to say was the best thing we did all holiday.

During the third week we went to a zoo, and hired the quad bikes again for another day, this time exploring through a deserted and derelict village, eating lunch right by the side of a dam and just getting completely lost along random routes. In means of food we went out occasionally to different restaurants in our general area for dinner. I love trying local and unique food while on holiday and dining in restaurants along the harbour and sea front.

For the other days in the holiday they were spent relaxing by the pool, messing around in the pool and exploring other parts of the area nearby. These were three weeks I will never forget, I can happily say that I did not want to go back to school after this!

'We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.'

Natural Eye Makeup Look

I have been using this natural eye makeup look a lot recently especially as Autumn is now upon us, bolder eye shadows and bolder lips appear everywhere. This is a collab with Katie from Blossom and Daisy she has done her version of this post so be sure to have a look at her lovely blog.

Base
On the base of my lid I have been using a creaseless cream eye shadow in bikini-tini from Benefits Sexiest Nudes Ever eye shadow kit, I just apply it all over my eye lid. It is a lovely oyster pink shade and is a perfect eye shadow on its own and as a base. This eye shadow kit is quite expensive so if you were to recreate this look any champagne/ pink colour would do (I have heard that Mac Paint Pots are really good).

Lid
I next put a medium brown shade from the Collection Eyes Undercover in Brown sugar (fifth shade in the second picture) all over my lid, this shade is so nice because its a matte shade and its so pigmented. On the whole the Collection eye palettes are such good quality for a cheap price.

Crease
This is probably my favourite part of this look because it adds some definition to my eyes and I use the colour Mugshot from the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay (third shade from the right in the first picture), it is a beautiful brown/ash colour with a slight shine to it. I do this by getting a little on my eye shadow brush and starting in the crease near the outer edge of my eye and going in.

Then of course I blend the whole thing together! I am sorry this was a short post but I have recently been working on some bigger posts to show to you all and I can't wait for you all to see them.

What is your go to eye shadow palette/shade?

Drugstore Makeup Starter Kit

I am sorry for not posting last week, it was because I got swamped with homework and I really needed to get it all done and I wanted a post I had taken time on and not rushed to give to you. This post is a collab with Hannah from Hannah Rose her blog is beautiful so make sure to check out her version of this post.

Garnier BB Cream
I have been using this BB cream for god knows how long and I think its perfect for anyone starting out on makeup because its got a very light coverage and its also very moisturising. If you want something with a bit more coverage I really recommend the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
This concealer is honestly in my opinion the best drugstore concealer because its not cakey, it really brightens up any dark circles and conceals so well also it lasts all day.

Revolution Blush Palette - Golden Sugar
I have used this palette a lot recently because not only has it got blushes in it it also has 3 contour shades and a highlighter, they are all lovely shades and so pigmented.

Sleek Blush - Rose Gold
I got this blush a little while back because of all the good things I heard about it, at first I didn't really like this blush but as I wore it more often I fell in love with it. It is quite a bright pink/rose colour but when on it is just a lovely subtle glow of pink and it really looks lovely. Also because it has  a little bit of shimmer in it it creates an almost highlight at the same time.

Maybelline Brow Drama
This is a very recent purchase for me and I love it this is perfect for anyone starting out on makeup because it shapes your eyebrows so well but in a really natural way.

Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette
I have 2 of these palettes and the colours are beautiful and so pigmented, if you are starting out on makeup these pallets are really good because they are lovely nude colours.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
This mascara has to be the best mascara for lengthening and thickening lashes, it is very like the Benefit Roller Lash but at a fraction of the price. If you don't want a mascara as bold as this the Rimmel Wonder'full mascara is a favourite of mine as well.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick - 302
This was the first lipstick I ever bought and I wear it constantly, the colour 302 is a beautiful nude shade that is perfect for if your starting out on makeup because it's not a bold colour at all.

This is a makeup routine I use a lot for school/everyday and I keep finding that drugstore makeup is getting better and better in its quality. I hope you found this helpful if you want to get into makeup now or any time in the future :)
