February Favourites

Its nearly the end of February and can I just say where did the last two months go?! Although I am so happy that winter is over and I can finally start looking forward to summer. I have gathered a few of my favourites from this month to show you all in this post all of which I have been loving a lot this month.

Mac Lipstick | Velvet Teddy
I got this lipstick from my friend Hannah for Christmas and I love the colour so much along with many others. It is a matte lipstick and the colour is a lovely brown/pink nude and it is perfect for any occasion which is why I have been wearing it so much and it as taken a place in my February favourites.

Benefit Rockateur Blush
Again I got this for Christmas and this is such a lovely blush, it is a dark pink colour which I love to wear during this time of year and it is so pigmented so a little bit will go a long way.

Lush Prince Charming Shower Cream
I have talked about this product recently in another post but I had to include it in this one! Overall it is an amazing product that smells amazing and also makes your skin feel so smooth because of the cocoa butter in it. If you are looking at stocking up on shower creams I definitely recommend this one.

Adult Colouring Book | Secret Garden
Yet again another thing I was very kindly given for Christmas was this adult colouring book by Johanna Baeford, the designs in this book are absolutely incredible and so detailed so I can guarantee this is going to take me a while to fill in. But it such a nice thing to do in your spare time and I have been using it a lot recently.

Fujifilm Instax Share Printer
I have had this for a good year now I think and I have to say it is one of my favourite presents ever, it is a printer I can connect to any of my devices and print off pictures as Polaroids. I love the fact I can print off any pictures I want and I can't get enough of it, it is just such a nice way to have your pictures.

Urban Outfitters Polaroid Album
Linking to the last favourite I got this photo album for all of my Polaroids in London two weeks ago at Urban Outfitters. I had no where to put my Polaroids before and this is such a lovely way to store them and look back at!

These are all of my favourites for this month, I can't wait for March now as I have so many good things planned. Also a massive thank you for over 10,000 page views on here!! I can't believe how many times people have looked at my blog and I am so grateful for all of your lovely comments!

A New Obsession | Topshop NYPD Jumper

A while ago I found this jumper in Topshop, I had actually had my eye on it after seeing it on Instagram so I got it and it is now one of my favourite things to wear! Being Topshop it was quite expensive at £35 but for the quality you get I think it is worth the money.

I got the jumper in large as I prefer over sized jumpers because I think they are much more comfy to wear. The inside of the jumper is so soft and the fabric is reasonably thick so this jumper will not wear easily and will probably last me a good year.

Overall I love this jumper and it was a good buy, I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfy jumper. It's just so easy to throw on when you have nothing else to wear!

How I Edit My Blog & Instagram Photos

I get a lot of questions on my Instagram and blog asking me how I edit my photos and I have done this post before but it was a long, long time ago and I feel an updated version is needed! I have been doing the same editing routine for a while now because I feel it works so well and gives me really nice outcomes. The app I like to use and have been using for a good 2 years is Aviary which is a free editing app and I love it. I have shown a collage above of how I edited it but I will go through the steps below:

Top Left | Brightness
The first thing I do when I edit my photos is adjust the brightness and I turn it up until I think it is right and suits the picture. Just make sure not to go over board with the brightness otherwise the quality of your picture will go down.

Top Right | Shadows
Next I turn down the shadows so the dark bits of the photo come through more and give the picture a clearer look.

Bottom Left | Highlights
After the shadows I turn up the highlights so whereas before I made the dark shadows more obvious this time the lighter sections in the photo show up more. I think this definitely makes a big difference by doing this.

Bottom Right | Saturation
And last but not least I turn up the saturation, this makes any colour in the photo stand out more so the picture ends up looking more vibrant. But again be careful not to overdo this step otherwise your picture may come out looking orange and over edited.

I use this same routine for every photo on my blog and Instagram and I love how they turn out, although I have been experimenting with editing with other apps one being vsco cam so my Instagram editing may change soon! If you would like to have a look at my Instagram my username is @sprinkesofella and it is also linked on the right of my blog.

Everyday Makeup Look

Makeup Used
L'Oreal True Match Foundation
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Naked Flushed Palette Bronzer
Mac Soft and Gentle Highlighter
Benefit Rockateur Blush
Naked 3 Palette
Maybelline Brow Drama in Transparent
Maybelline Lash Sensational
Mac Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

I realised the other day I hadn't done an updated makeup look on my blog in a while and I love writing and taking pictures for these posts so I decided to do one for today but I am doing this post differently as it is going to be a more of a chatty run through of my routine. Recently I have been reaching for more nude shades for my lips and eyes as I feel that suits me more and after Autumn and Christmas I feel a bit bold lipped out.

The first thing I put on is my L'Oreal True Match foundation which I have in one of the lightest colours 1N, I have been using this for about 6 months now and absolutely love it because of how easy it is to blend and how light it feels on my face and I have yet to find a foundation as good. Next I use my Rimmel Stay Matte powder to make my foundation stay on for longer and because I have pretty oily skin this is a saviour when it comes to that. After that I like to contour my face (because if I don't there is no cheek bones visible at all) with a bronzer from my Naked Flushed Palette that I got for Christmas, this bronzer is amazing as it is the perfect colour for my skin tone and goes on so easily. The next products I use I also got for Christmas which is the Mac soft and gentle highlighter and the Benefit Rockateur Blush both of which are amazing, the highlighter is beautiful and the blush is a lovely pink/plum shade.

After all of that I start on my eyebrows, I fill my eyebrows in with the second darkest shade in on my Naked 3 palette as it is the perfect colour and go over them gently with the Maybelline Brow Drama in Transparent which tends to keep my eyebrows in place all day. For a while now I have concentrated on my eyeshadow more and my go-to look is to put the shade 'Liar' on my lid and 'Factory' along my crease from my Naked 3 Palette, this creates a lovely natural eye look. And of course next for mascara is the Maybelline Lash Sensational, which is an amazing mascara and lengthens my lashes so easily. Finally for lipstick I have been using a Mac lipstick in Velvet Teddy which is a lovely nude matte shade that I can't get enough of at the moment!

This makeup look I love and have been using it everyday for a while, I have to say it takes a good 20 minutes to do but in the end I think its worth it. I hope this inspires you on your makeup in any way and I also recommend all of these products as they are amazing.
