Revlon Laquer Balms

The other day I went shopping (expect a haul pretty soon) and I picked up these two beauty's from Boots as I have heard really good things about this product. They are £7.99 which I think is a reasonable price for something like this but every now and again they do offers (at the moment there is a 3 for 2 offer in boots).

Lacquer balm in Vivacious (120)
This shade is a dark pink colour and is definitely more for people who are confident in wearing bright shades on your lips because personally I find this a bit to bright for my liking. Although it is still a lovely shade.

Matte balm in Elusive (205)
I love this shade a lot, I think its a lovely shade of pink that gives your lips a bit of colour but not over the top bright it is also matte which I really love because it makes your lips less bold and bright. Overall its just a lovely colour.

The only thing I could fault with these is that the colour doesn't last for long but maybe that's just me? But these balms are lovely colours and I cant wait to try some more of Revlon's lip products.

Comment below what you want my next blog post to be on.

Banana And Nut Muffins

One thing I love to do every now and again is baking. I like to find really nice recipes and make them to my own liking. Today I am going to show you how to make my favourite banana and nut muffins, I also love this recipe because you can also make it gluten free and it still tastes lovely! You can also swap the nuts for any other topping you may like, I once put on little fudge pieces which were a lovely alternative. They are super easy to make and are really nice.

Ingredients (makes 10-12 ish)
- 100g (4oz) butter or margarine
- 100g (4oz) soft light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 bananas
- 100g (4oz) self-raising flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 100g (4oz) chopped nuts/any alternative

You will also need a muffin tray

Instructions
1. Turn on your oven to 190°C, 375°F, Gas mark 5.
2. Put the butter or the margarine into a mixing bowl then add sugar.
3. Use a wooden spoon to beat the butter or margarine and the sugar until they are smooth and creamy.
4. Carefully break the eggs into a small bowl. Beat them with a whisk or a fork until they are mixed well.
5. Add the beaten egg to the creamy mixture. Each time you add some egg, beat it into the mixture.
6. Peel the bananas. Cut them into chunks then put them in a bowl. Mash them well with the back of a fork.
7. Stir the mashed banana into the creamy mixture. Then put a sieve over the bowl and sift the flour and baking powder into it.
8. Using a metal spoon to stir the flour into the mixture. To do this turn the mixture over slowly with the spoon.
9. Spoon the mixture into each case just below the top of the case. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top of each muffin and bake for about 25-30 minutes.
10. Once you take out the muffins check if they are baked properly by getting a tooth pick and putting it through the center of the muffin. If it comes out with mixture on it its not done but if its clean then its baked thoroughly.
11.  Leave it on a wire rack for about 20 minutes.

And your done! If you want to make this gluten free just swap the flour and the baking powder for gluten free alternatives (you can find these in any supermarkets). I hope you liked this post and if you try this recipe at home DM me a picture on instagram, my name is @sprinklesofella. Happy baking!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara Review

The other day I went out and bought the Elle magazine (March Issue) and it came with a free sample size Benefit Roller Lash mascara. I have never before bought or used any Benefit product as they have always seemed quite pricey! But I have heard many great things about Benefit so this was the perfect excuse to try it!

As you can see the by the name the mascara is based around hair rollers in the sense that it curls your eyelashes. The brush is curved which is brilliant because it goes with the shape of your eyelashes and it is smaller perfect for smaller eyes. The Roller Lash has been designed to grip onto eyelashes, pull them upwards, curl and set black.

Still I was a bit doubtful because sure the packaging is very nice but the question is does it actually work? And yes, yes it does! When I was applying the mascara I could feel the brush hooking onto my eyelashes and pulling them upwards, it didn't clump my lashes like I have found a lot of mascaras do and didn't smudge at all. It felt very light on my eyes not heavy. The only fault I could give it is that I find it works extremely well for my bottom lashes but doesn't do much more for my top lashes than my Wonder'full Rimmel London mascara (which I recommend a lot for anyone who is looking for a cheaper mascara).

Overall in short the Benefit Roller Lash mascara, curls, lengthens, is light, doesn't smudge, adds volume and makes your eyes the center of attention. I recommend this to you all especially as you can get it free with Elle magazine at the moment. If you are looking for the actual mascara the Benefit Roller Lash mascara will launch on the 1st of March and will be sold for £19.50.

Photography: Editing

Many of you ask me on my instagram how I edit my photos, so I decided I would give you some tips on making your photos look brighter and more vibrant. I will go through what I do to edit each of my photos but you might have to change this to suit your own.

Brightness: I always turn the brightness up on all of my photos, usually  I find it makes my photos a lot clearer and more colourful. But be careful because there is a borderline between bright and too bright!

Shadows: This is the amount of darkness is in the picture you can turn this down to make the colours more defined and deep. I don't use this all the time because sometimes its nicer to have a lighter picture.

Saturation: I use this a lot because by turning this up it makes the colours brighter, more colourful and makes it stand out. Definitely use this if you have something like a tartan scarf to make the colours stand out.

Angle Editor: This is used to adjust the angle of your photo to your liking, I have only recently found this out but I think its a great tool to mess around with and find a new side of a photo.

I hope this helps you to understand more on how to edit your photos. To edit my photos I use an app called 'Aviary' which I have been using for ages now and nothing else I have tried has been as good.

Do you have any tips for editing?

Makeup - Why do we use it?

The other day I was sitting in class and I overheard a boy in my class talking about girls wearing makeup and it made me think well actually why do we wear makeup?

1. Confidence - Many girls especially in our society nowadays feel like they aren't pretty enough or they just feel very self conscious about the way they look and makeup is a way of covering up and you feel better about how you look and gives us a little confidence boost.

2. Advertisement - This may sound really weird at first but what I mean is that in the adverts they have these beautiful/perfect looking models and you look at them and aspire to be that pretty, so you try to be, but what many people don't realise is that the models faces and body is edited to be made to look perfect.

3. Clearer complexion - People (including myself) wear makeup to hide under-eye circles or blemishes. This makes us feel better about ourselves.

4. For fun! - Makeup is generally something girls have that's different to boys so sometimes its nice to mix and match and playing around with makeup is really fun and if you go wrong you can just wash it off and start again!

Never feel like you have to wear makeup just because your friends do or someone says you should, be yourself because that's the best person you can ever be. But if you feel more confident with it on (like me) go for it because if that's how you gain confidence its worth it.

'Makeup should never be used to hide your yourself. It should be used to enhance your natural beauty'  -  Kira Carl

What animal would you love to marry?
Hmmm this is a hard one but probably a dolphin because they are my favourite animal and they are so intelligent!

I don't think I could pick one because I like to watch a lot so a list of my favourite youtubers would be: Zoella, Thatcher Joe, Casper Lee, Pointless Blog, Joe Weller, Tyler Oakley, Superwoman, Connor Franta, StilaBabe09, Niomi Smart, Tanya Burr,  Jim Chapman, Sprinkleofglitter and Floral Princess. I recommend all of these to you.

I would take my Rimmel London 9 in 1 BB cream.

What's the most relaxing place you can think of?
Definitely Paphos in Cyprus its such a lovely place!

Favourite time of day?
On a weekend around 3 o'clock because I am usually doing nothing around that time :)

Favourite piece of décor in your room?
My fake plant from Ikea (will be in my haul post soon) because it really brings some colour to my room.

If  you were only allowed to take one thing on a desert island what would you choose?

Perfume review

Hello Everyone! I hope you all like my new blog theme guys (I did it all myself and I am pretty proud of it). Today I will be doing a perfume review, I hope you like it.

Daisy Eau So Fresh - Marc Jacobs
I have wanted this perfume for a long time as I have heard many people raving about it, and they were right. This scent it is so light and sweet. A massive big thumbs up to this one :)

Blissfull Mistful - Zoella Beauty
You could say I am slightly bias with this one because I am a big Zoella fan, but honestly this is such a nice body mist and its only £8.00!!! A brilliant price for such a good product.

London - River Island
I got two of these as a present (I didn't even know River Island did perfumes), and I am so glad I have these! They have such a sweet smell and it is reasonably similar to the Marc Jacobs Daisy, well done River Island.

What's your favourite perfume?

How to clean your makeup brushes

Hello Everyone!! So for a while now I have been meaning to clean my makeup brushes (they have been practically shouting 'clean me!' at me for months) and now is the time. I have found out that every time you use your brushes to apply makeup you are picking up bacteria from your skin and it is left on your brush after you have finished and the next time you use the brush the same happens again but this time the bacteria that was on your brush is now on your skin (uuuugh) . Its a dreadful circle which will only cause you more trouble by gaining spots, this is why you should clean your brushes regularly:

 1. Dampen your brushes slightly by wetting a flannel with lukewarm water.

2. Using any cleaning product of your choice ( I used and highly recommend the Dove supreme fine silk beauty cream) pump a little bit onto the top of your brush.

3. Start to swirl the brush around on the palm of your hand, every now and again adding a little bit of water to lather up the product. (Makeup should start to come out onto your hand now)

4. Squeeze out excess product and watch it wash away down the plug hole. Do this about 3 times.

6. And Voila! You are finished, stop and admire your clean brushes.

You should repeat this process every 2-3 weeks so your brushes don't get to dirty. I hope this helps you in every possible way it can help. I will be doing a haul very soon so keep your eyes open for that. Have a lovely day!
